MEET OUR LEADERSHIP TEAM

Jared serves as the Lead Pastor of True North.  Providing spiritual and organizational leadership for the church, guiding its vision, discipleship, and mission. Jared is responsible for shepherding the congregation, equipping leaders, and ensuring the church remains faithful to biblical teaching and Christ-centered living.

Jared was born and raised in California’s Central Valley. Jared has had the God-given dream to plant a church since he was sixteen years old. Jared went on to receive a degree in biblical studies and has served in various youth and associate pastor roles over the years, continuing to dive into his passion for theology.

Brook serves as the primary leader for the operational, administrative, and organizational functions of the church. Working closely with the Lead Pastor and leadership team, her role ensures that the vision of the church is effectively implemented through sound management, strategic oversight, and the coordination of people and resources.

Brook is a native of Northern Michigan who grew up serving the church.  She spent time overseas as a missionary after High school, where she felt the call to full-time ministry. Brook has an education in worship, biblical studies, and leadership. She has a passion for all things creative.​​

Zac currently serves as the Associate Pastor, supporting the church's mission and ministry through biblical teaching, discipleship, and pastoral leadership. His role works alongside the Lead Pastor and church leadership to nurture spiritual growth within the congregation and to provide guidance in areas of stewardship, teaching, and pastoral care.

 

Zac is a committed lifelong learner and enjoys long discussions and healthy debates about theology. Zac loves the authenticity and the genuine pursuit of the Lord that True North carries.

Zac is a true jack of many trades, holding a wide variety of skills. He enjoys being outdoors, and hunting. He lives with his beautiful wife, Kristin, and their two young children.

Johnathen and Bianca Somner are the Worship Pastors at True North. They aim to create a space for our community to encounter God. They are also passionate about the Church as a whole experiencing God’s presence and are working to write songs of praise and worship that will lead people to Jesus. The Somner’s hail from California, feeling called to church planting in Northern Michigan with Pastors Brook and Jared.

Johnathen has a background in professional music and recording, and with that brings incredible musicianship and production to the True North Worship Department.

Bianca studied Biblical and Theological studies, as well as music. At True North, she is always striving to bring songs to our community that are sound in heart and theology. Together, they feel called to help churches grow and have been serving in worship ministry since before they got married in 2012.

​

When they are not making music, you can find them spending time with their 4 children, or perhaps on a date night- something they love to do as often as possible. Johnathen and Bianca love the True North family and all the ways God has been showing up with physical healings as people begin to step out praying in bold faith. It serves as a reminder of who and what they are called to in the family of God.
